William Wroughton II married Hannah Mace, daughter of Nicholas Massie/Macey/Mace (SEE Appendix G "Mace Excursus"). Hannah's identity is proven to our satisfaction by the commendable research of Mrs. Elaine Mason. Mrs. Mason researched the Mace/Macey/Massie family to determine the identity of her ancestress Susannah Cremeen, wife of John Cremeen. In so doing, she helped to clarify a deed that we had already been aware of and which had suggested to us that William Wroughton II's wife was Hannah Mace. On 14 March 1720 Josiah Mace and his wife Angell and William Wroten and his wife Hannah sold to Nicolas Mace Sr. (II) a tract of land called "Cedar Point" on the south side of Little Choptank River and the east side of Fishing Creek (200 acres), acknowledged by Josias Mace as attorney for himself and for William and Hannah Wroten. John Robson and Roger Woolford witnessed."[1]
