Myrtle Mace was born on March 16, 1891 in Warren, Wayne County Iowa. She was the daughter of James Erasmus Mace & Clara Alice Williams Mace.

In 1900, Myrtle Mace was living with her parents and attending school in Clio, Wayne County, Iowa.
In 1910, Myrtle Mace was living with her parents and attending school in Warren, Wayne County, Iowa.
On December 22, 1915, Friend D. Haney married Myrtle Mace in Polk County, Iowa. She was the daughter of James Erasmus & Clara Allen Williams Mace.
By January, 1920 Friend D. Haney, Myrtle Mace and their son William F. Haney were living at 1726 25th Street, Des Moines, Iowa. Friend D. Haney was employed as an electrical services man at a lighting company.
Friend D. Haney & Myrtle Mace were living Ottumwa, Iowa in 1922, living in a rented house at 208 Albany Street.
