Seamon Martin Mace was born in Lamar County, Alabama on 12-07-1902. He was born to Martin William Mace and Lula Emma (Brooks) Mace. He lived in the town of Sulligent most, if not all, of his life. He died on 12-10-1996. His father, Martin, was involved with watch repair and jewelry. Uncle Seamon was trained by his father and took over the business later after his father retired. His store was in downtown Sulligent. Uncle Seamon would walk to work 6 days a week from his house on Brown Street to his shop - this was about 3 blocks ( he had a car but preferred walking as his exercise going to work) . He also ate vegetables grown both in his back yard garden and his "pea patch" which was located on an acre or so that he owned a short distance away. If I remember correctly, he would read the US News & World Report to which he subscribed for years. He also received the local paper.

Uncle Seamon was married and had two children. Both children no longer live in Alabama. Uncle Seamon had sisters and brothers born from, the best I recall, 1898 to 1915.
