On 3 June 1602 license was granted for John Machell, son and heir of Matthew Machell, to enter his lands, he receiving issues from the time he had attained age 21.[2]

On 2 Dec 1599 John married Jane Woodruff,[3] daughter of Sir Nicholas Woodruff Lord Mayor of London (ca 1529-18 May 1598) & Grissell Kirton (ca 1533-15 Jul 1607), in Seale, Surrey. Born ca 1572 in England. Jane was baptized in St. Andrew Undershaft, London, on 4 May 1572.[4]

John Schmeeckle when you restored an old version of his biography you removed the abstract of his will, a note about his 2nd wife, and some sources I had added. I have now added it all back.

I ask you once again to please be considerate of other people's work.

Charlene, I added back the baptism source for John Machell, which fits another source indicating that John was a minor in 1598.

Also, the Haberdashers records on findmypast show his father Mathew Machell was living in Shaklewell in 1584. His father had three apprentices who became freemen that year. Rico Halliley, Thomas Denham and John Machell.

John Schmeeckle please do not remove sources other people add. I was courteous to you by not removing anything you added. I would appreciate the same courtesy.

It is quite possible John Machell was "John Manshall" baptised 21 Jan 1579, St John, Hackney (no parents recorded). https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:JMN6-7ZL

From Sussex Notes and Queries vol. 16 (1963): Mathew Machell, the haberdasher, who is described in Harleian MS. 2131 and in three 1592 Chancery Suits (C.2 Eliz. I, M.m. 2/38, 12/33 and 14/61) as of Shacklewell (a hamlet in Hackney, Middx., the register of which has no Machell entries), died 23rd August, 1593 (I.P.M. C.142/240/17, held at Monken Hadley, Middx., 1st Dec. 1593)
