Biography

Lurany was born in 1752. She passed away in 1836. She and her husband, Zacheus Beebe, moved to Marlow, New Hampshire in June 1777 and lived for a time in her father's home. “(The following is taken from the Pension file of Ripley Bingham, W.F. 23612, N.H. Service, in N.H. Pension Records, vo., 4);

April 2, 1841, Zaccheus Beebe, Revolutionary pensioner, of Stanstead, Lower Canada, aged 92 years, testified that he lived in Lyme, Conn. In the early part of the Revolution, and in June 1777, moved to Marlow, N.H., “and lived in the house of my wife’s father, Ebenezer Mack;’ that about the last of the year, 1777, Ripley Bingham was married to Elizabeth Mack, who was a sister to my wife at her father’s house, being the same house in which I then lived.” …… “The marriage ceremony was performed by Elder Blood, a Baptist minister.” …… After Ripley Bingham and the said Elizabeth has resided together and raised a family of children he went off and left his wife and family and she had to get along with her family the best way she could, and she had a hard time of it to keep along any way until her children, some of them had become so old as to help support the younger ones. It must be as much as forty years since,” etc. Zaccheus Beebe”[1]

They later migrated to Canada.

Zaccheus was a Rev. War pensioner (file S12196) and his children were born in or near Marlow, Cheshire City, NH. Zaccheus Beebe married Lurannah Mack, about 1770; she was born circa 1755; and died on 12 Aug 1836. Lurannah's name has been recorded spelled in various ways. A correction card in the New Hampshire archives says the correct spelling of her name is Lurannah. One fact that's helped me find information in this branch: Lurany Mack is descended from the maternal (Mack) family of Joseph Smith Junior, founder of the Mormon Church; Lurany is perhaps 2nd or 3rd cousin of Joseph's mother. As far as I know, Lurany, Zaccheus and their family did not follow that religion.
