Mustered into the 7th USCT 12 Nov. 1863, Company D, and discharged for promotion to Captain 25 April 1864.
Mustered into Company G, 116th USCT, 25 April 1864; prisoner of war 29 Sept. 1864 at Fort Gilmer, Virginia; promoted by brevet to Major 13 March 1865; mustered out 17 Jan. 1867.
