Biography

Alexander Mackay was born in 1798, his father, John Mackay and his mother, Betsy matheson. He married Margaret MAGGIE Ross on January 6, 1839, in Lairg, Sutherland, Scotland. They had at least five children. He died in about 1866 at the age of 68. "FROM HIGHLAND CROFT TO CANADIAN HOMESTEAD" He farmed the homestead after the death of his father in 1836.
