Alfred Inglis Mackie was born in West End, Johnshaven on the 27th May 1888. He was the son of Robert Carnegie Black Mackie and Elizabeth McArthur. He died, aged 63, in Victoria Hospital, Kirkcaldy on the 7th April 1952. He worked as a boilerhouse chargehand and was married to Jeanie Dickson in 1916 in Dalziel.
