Biography
David was born in St Monance to Andrew and Isobel Mackie (nee Rodgers) on 12 April 1784 and baptised on 30 Apr 1784. He died in 1832 and was buried in St Monans old cemetery, Fife, Scotland.

Research Notes
There is a marriage recorded between a David Mackie and a Mary Riekie (or Reekie) at St Monans on 10/08/1830, ref: 30 / 191. This has been documented on some genealogy sites as being this David Mackie. None of them have any evidence to support or verify the claim. There is no mention of a wife on his headstone at St Monan's cemetery. This requires further investigation.
