Biography

Iain John Maclean, 2nd of Kinlochaline was found in the family structure for wife (Mary Campbell), his daughter (Janet Maclean), and for his son-in-law (John Cameron, 2nd of Glendessary), and grandson (Allan Cameron, 3rd of Glendessary and Acharm).

Iain / John's mother was Jannet MacLean, daughter of Lachlan Og, 1st of Torloisk. She was his father's first wife.[1] His father and predecessor was Hector Maclean, 3rd Chieftain of Morvern and 1st Laird of Kinlochaline. His son and successor was also named Hector.[2]

John, Second MacLean of Kinlochaline
Who suffered severely at the Battle of Inverkeithing. He was first married to Mary, daughter of John Campbell of Lochnell, by whom he had Hector, his successor, Allan, who died unmarried, and Jannet, married to John Cameron of Glendessary. John was again married, to Una, daughter of the second John Garbh, laird of Coll, but had no issue.[1]
