Censused with the family is infant Johanna McLennan, age 3m; frequently misidentified as a child of this couple, she was the youngest child of Murdoch's brother, Donald McLennan. Johanna's mother died in childbirth, so was adopted likely to be wet-nursed by Murdoch's wife as the couple also had an infant of their own at the time.
