Biography

William Charles Macpherson, 4th of Blairgowrie was born on 11 August 1855. He was the son of Allan Macpherson, 3rd of Blairgowrie and Emma Blake. He married Isabella Mary Kinloch, daughter of Colonel David James Kinloch and Katherine Mary Young, on 16 October 1886. He died on 6 July 1936 at age 80.

He was educated at Winchester College, Winchester, Hampshire, England. He was with the Indian Civil Service. He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) He was member of the Bengal Legislative Council between 1902 and 1911. He was appointed Companion, Order of the Star of India (C.S.I.) in 1903. He was member of the Board of Revenue of Calcutta between 1906 and 1911.
