Biography

Maisie Louisa Maddox was born in New Norfolk on Oct 23 1914, the daughter of Walter Erskine Maddox and Ruby Ann (nee Triffitt)..^[1]

Maisie married Trevor Raymond Gordon in New Norfolk on Dec 3 1937.^[2] Trevor, a bachelor aged 22, was living at Magra (New Norfolk), Occupation Labourer, born Wynyard, Tasmania, the son of Samuel Gordon (Policeman) and Violet Isabell Gordon (nee Thompson). Maisie was listed as a 23 year old spinster from Magra, the daughter of Walter Erskine Maddox (Labourer) and Ruby Ann Maddox (nee Triffitt). The marriage was witnessed by H. O. Purkiss (presumed to be Harry Oswald), New Norfolk, and D ?? Triffitt, Magra.

Memorial Notice for Maisie's mother, Ruby Ann on the 2nd anniversary of her death:^[3]

Electoral rolls from 1943 to 1968 list Maisie Louisa and Trevor Raymond Gordon living at Magra, where Trevor worked as a labourer.^[4]

Maisie Louisa Gordon died on Dec 15 1983^[5], and is buried with her husband Trevor (who died on Sep 1 1999) at Malbina Cemetery (Lawn E280), New Norfolk, Tasmania. The headstone notes their children Peggy, Brian and June - "Forever in our Hearts".
