Biography

Ira was the son of John W. and Susan Jane Greenwood Maddox and was married to Mary Viola Sanders. They had 9 children. He owned two blacksmith shops in Marshall County at one time, one in Briensburg and one in Benton. There is no tombstone for him in Strow Cemetery but his death certificate says he is buried there. I imagine he is buried next to his daughter, Linda Lake Maddox, since there are twonow unmarked graves next to hers. He died of tuberculosis.
