Biography

Marjory Ann Madison was born on 29 August 1923 at 78 Knoll St., Roslindale, Massachusetts, the daughter of George and Margaret (Sternberg) Madison.[1]

Marjory appeared on the Federal Census of 16 April 1930 at 78 Knoll St., Ward 20, Boston in the household of her grandfather Wilhelm Paul Sternberg as Marjory A. Madison, granddaughter, age 6, attending school. She and her parents were reported to be born in Mass.[2]

She appeared on the Federal Census of 11 Apri; 1940 at 96 Rockland, West Roxbury (Boston) in the household of her father George Donald Madison as Margery Madison, daughter, age 16, attending school, one year of high school, born Mass., not employed.[3]

She married John Harold Denekamp, son of Hermanus Denekamp and Reintze Hermina, on 27 July 1945 in Kansas. She had traveled to meet her groom while he was serving in WW II.[4]

She died on 29 October 2009 at age 86. She was buried at the Gethsemany Cemetery in West Roxbury.

Marge and Babe Denekamp had two sons.

Obituary

An obituary was printed in the Boston Globe on 01 November 2009:
Marjorie Ann Denekamp, a resident of Westwood, formerly of Sharon for over 47 years, died Thursday October 29, 2009 at the Charlwell House in Norwood. She was 86. Mrs. Denekamp was born in Boston and was the daughter of the late George and Margaret (Sternberg) Madison. She graduated from Roslindale High School and was a homemaker. She is survived by her husband of 67 years John H. Denekamp of Westwood; her children ... and her grandchildren .... She is also survived by her great grandchildren... She was the sister of the late Robert Madison. Relatives and friends are invited to attend funeral services Monday, November 2nd at 10 am at Folsom Funeral Home, 649 High Street, Westwood. Burial in Gethsemane Cemetery, West Roxbury. Visiting hours will be held Sunday 4-7 pm. In lieu of flowers donations in Marjorie’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Memory Walk, Chicago, IL 60601.
