Birth: Nov. 15, 1937Death: Aug. 23, 2012 Funeral services for Ramona Madison Mardis, 74, of Church Hill, who died Thursday, August 23, 2012 at her residence, will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 25, 2012 at Church Hill Methodist Church with Rev. Reed McCaleb officiating. 

Burial will follow at Donahue Plantation Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home. 

Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. Friday until time of service at the church. 

Mrs. Mardis was born Nov. 15, 1937 in Franklin County, MS, the daughter of James Hobson Madison and Donis Impson Mardis. She was a member the Eastern Star and taught Sunday school at Fayette Baptist Church, Morgantown Baptist Church, Washington Baptist Church, and Church Hill Methodist Church. She loved cooking, fishing, baseball, football, and any activity that involved her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her brother, Jackie Madison, grandson, Jacob R. Marks, and a son in law, Arch McCormick. 

Survivors include her husband, Edwin R. Mardis; five children, Ramona Mardis Mawhorter and husband, Duane, of Brandon, John Allen Mardis II and wife, Annette, of Natchez, Donna M. Westmoreland and husband, Charles, of Brandon, Terry M. Marks and husband, Rusty, of Natchez, and E. Lee Mardis and wife, Jackie, of Natchez; three brothers, J. H. Madison, Joseph Madison, and Joe Madison; one sister, Delores Segrest; 11 grandchildren, James E. Ray, Mark Mawhorter, Katelin Mawhorter, Trey Mardis, Amy Hawley, Kristy Walters, Matt Westmoreland, Russ Marks, Nicky Marks, Chisum Mardis, and Win Mardis; 6 great grandchildren, Cooper Garner, Leila Ray, Tucker Hawley, David and Haley Walters, and Kate Marks; and numerous nieces and nephews. 

Pallbearers will be James E. Ray, Mark R. Mawhorter, Russell M. Marks, John A. Mardis III, Chisum L. Mardis, Win M. Mardis, Matthew L. Westmoreland, and Roger D. Matthew Jr. 

Honorary pallbearers will be Charles A. Ward, Adam Walters, Kevin Noble, Steve Robertson, T. J. Hawley, Marian R.
