William was born in 1818. He was the son of Robert Madison and Elizabeth Strachan. died in the New Orleans Yellow Fever Epidemic of 1849 while on a business trip, and was originally buried at Girod Street Cemetery (disestablished in 1957 and the remains removed to other cemeteries), New Orleans, Orleans Parish, Louisiana.[1]
