Biography

Rasmus was born in 1860 in Denmark.

In 1884, Rasmus immigrated to the US and settled in San Diego County, California.

In 1902, Rasmus married Anna Eilersen in San Joaquin County. They had one daughter - Lily born in 1903. In 1912, Rasmus and Anna divorced.

He passed away before 1918.

[Special Dispatch to The Call] SACRAMENTO, March 6.—Rasmus Madsen does not like the way his wife wears her hair and today he filed suit for divorce, alleging this as one of the grounds. Madsen is proprietor of a laundry. Anna M. Madsen, the wife, he says, had her hair "done up" every day at a hair dressing establishment. He does not specify the type of coiffure she used.

MADSEN - In this city, July 26, 1916, Rasmus Madsen, father of Lillie Madsen, son of Mads and Anna Fredericksen; brother of Anton, Martin, Hans and christian Madsen, Mrs. Minnie Hansen Mrs. Tillie Miller, Mrs. Hanna Andreassen, Mrs. Anna Larsen and Mrs. Augusta Johansen; a native of Denmark, aged 39 years 6 months and 10 days. Friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral today (Friday) at 2:30 p.m. from the home of Clark, Booth & Yardley, 917 H street. Interment I.O.O.F. Lawn cemetery.
