Research Notes
There are two Augustus B Clarks of Maryland born around 1844 out there. One was the son of Thomas and Sarah Ann Johnson.[13] The other is the son of John M Clark and Mary E. Daily. I think I'm related to the second. I know from the Ancestry.com I'm in the "Magaha" DNA circle--so I'm definitely related to the Augustus who married Mary Margaret Magaha. Their marriage notice says they're both from Baltimore. The Augustus Clark born to Thomas and Sarah Ann was born in Harford, Maryland--not Baltimore, There is also more than one record for an Augustus Clark who fought on the Civil War--on both sides. The one who fought for the Union was from Texas, Maryland so I doubt it's this Augustus Clark. The detailed information on the Augustus who fought for the Confederacy is behind a paywall on Ancestry, com so at this time I can't confirm nor eliminate that possibility,
