Seagrove was born in 1810, the son of Charles Arthur and Elizabeth Ann (Zubly) Magill

He married Helen Almira Twining, daughter of Stephen and Almire (Catlin) Twining, on 12 Jun 1834 at New Haven, New Haven, Connecticut, USA.

He passed away in 1884 at Amherst, Hampshire, Massachusetts, USA and is buried at West Cemetery, Amherst, Hampshire, Massachusetts, USA.
