Magnus Bengtsson (Feltman), and sister of Jon Magnusson (see n 40 p 88). She had two illegimate dau., both b. in Söderala, father or fathers unknown. Carin, B May 2, 1842 and Christina, b. The largest group married at any one time was 24 couples, which occurred July 23, 1848. This was a lovely ceremony, according to the memoirs of an old colonist, held on a beautiful Sunday afternoon in Anderson's Grove, now Leonard Wexell's. The blue skies, the green grass and trees, the singing birds and the brilliant sunshine made a truly gorgeous and impressive setting for the event. The brides were simply dressed in the regulation garb of homespun, the olny finery permitted being bridal wreaths of blossoms woven by the maidens of the colony form prairie flowers. From "Historic Bishop Hill, 1846-1946, Bishop Hill Centennial Souvenir" Observance September 22, 23 and 24, 1946, by Emmelyne Arnquist Hedstrom page 31.

Carin Magnusdotter with her two little daughters arrived in New York on board the "Solide" 14 October 1846 - her sister Lena Wikberg with family was on the same ship.[2]
