Vivian May Hogan was born September 24, 1916, in Scandia, the daughter of Frank and Blanche Davis Mahan, and died Tuesday, March 26, at Hadley Regional Medical Center, Hays, at the age of 68 years. She attended school in Scandia until the age of 15 when she moved to Belleville, graduating from Belleville High School in 1935. She was a waitress in the Hadley Medical Center coffee shop. She was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, Hays; and Belleville VFW Auxiliary.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Fern Legg; a brother, Rex Hogan. Survivors include one son. Bill Burwell of Yakima, Wash.; two daughters, Mrs. Gary (Kathy) West of Hays, Mrs. Kent (Jeri) Willson of Russell; 10 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 28 at 2 p.m. in Brock's North Hill Chapel, Hays, with Fr. Albert Dwyer officiating. Burial will be in Mount Allen Cemetery of Hays. Memorials are suggested to Hospice of the Plains, Hays.
