Biography

Peirce was the son of David Mahony and Catherine Lacy.^[1][2]

He married firstly Catherine, daughter of Bryan Sheehy, of Gardenland, county Limerick. They had:^[1]

1. Bryan, an Officer in the Irish Brigade, afterwards incorporated in the British Service, he was killed in action at the storming of Guadaloupe
2. Cornelius, Captain in the 45th Regiment, he married Mary, daughter of Francis Arthur
3. Philip, died unmarried in Paris
4. Mary, married Philip Hunt of Loughborough.

He married secondly at Cahirconlish on 21st February 1792,^[3] Anna Maria, daughter of John Maunsell and Catherine Widenham of Ballybrood House in county Limerick. They had:^[1]

1. Peirce, who married in January 1815 Jane, only daughter of Edmund Kenifeck, of Seafort, county Cork^[4]
2. David, born 22nd February 1795, who in October 1824 married Margaret, daughter of William Perry.

Peirce died at Limerick in February 1819.^[5]
