Polly was born in the Bay of Islands 2 October 1834, daughter of Gilbert Mair and Elizabeth Puckey Mair-285 Puckey-11 (though the record states her Birth Name was given as Catheirne Green)

Polly married George Innes Fraser in 1853, Whangarei, New Zealand^[1] They had four children
