Biography

Robert R. Mair, 70, of Clare died Saturday Feb. 25, 1978 in the Clare Nursing Home.

Mr. Mair was born Jan. 1, 1908 in Scotland the son of David and Isabella (Ricky) Mair. He married Alta Johnson in 1949 in Angola, Ind. Mr. Mair and his wife operated the Band Box Cleaners in Clare from 1931 to 1950. In 1959 he opened a Dry Cleaners in Harrison which he operated until he retired in 1959. Mr. Mair was a resident of Clare for 45 years coming here from Detroit.

He is survived by his wife Alta, 1 son, Jack of Clare; 4 step-sons, Mickey Bell of Barryton, Keith Bell of Midland, Richard Bell of Farwell, and Clyde Bell of Clare; a step-daughter Mrs. Ed (Marion) Strouse of Clare, 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday March 1, in the Stephenson-Wyman Funeral Home with Rev. Wesley Briggs officiating. Burial will be in Cherry Grove Cemetery, Clare, Clare County, Michigan, USA.
