Biography

Birth

John Major was born in February of 1790 in Blythburgh, Suffolk, England.

Marriage

He married Ann (Page) Major (1791-1842) on the 3rd of November 1812 in Blythburgh, Suffolk, England.[1] They had nine children born in Blythburgh, England, the tenth one was born in Quebec, Canada.

They immigrated to Quebec, Canada before 1839 where the youngest was born and Ann passed away a few years later in 1842. John never remarried.

Death

In the 1871 Canadian census it was recorded that John, 81, was living with his son William and Fanny Major in Barford, Quebec.[8] He passed away on the 8th of April 1876 in Dixville, Coaticook, Quebec, Canada at the age of eighty-six.[9]
