Biography

James Makgill is a member of Clan Makgill.

James Makgill was the son of Rt. Hon. Sir James Makgill and Janet Adamsoun. He married Jean Wemyss, daughter of Sir David Wemyss of Wemyss and Cecilia Ruthven, on 5 April 1578. A contract for the marriage of James Makgill and Jean Wemyss was signed on 18 April 1578.2 He died on 6 November 1602. He lived at Rankeillour, Fife, Scotland.[1]
