On 17 November 1807 the farm Diemersfontein in Dal Josafat was transferred to him as a wedding gift by Dorothea Elisabeth Hertzog. His wife, Dorothea Elisabeth, was her grand child. The farm was 3 morg and 582 square roods in size.[3]
In 1814 he bought the farm Goede Rust in Daljosafat after the death of it's previous owner, Georg Stephanus Hauptfleisch. The farm was 50 morg in size.[4]
It seems that in 1831 he sold Goede Rust since on 20 Jan 1832 Jan Gysbert Hugo became the new owner. [4] Pieter then probably moved to 24 Riviere.
He died on 25 July 1846 at the place of his son, Daniel Petrus, at 24 Riviere. He left household furniture valued at less than £150.[5]
I could not determine the source of his 11 Jan 1784 date of birth. It might be that a death register has an entry with his exact age from which it was calculated. Danie Malan, 19 Mar 2024.
