Marie Catherine Mallet was born on 27 Oct 1698 and baptized the same day at Notre-Dame de Montréal , Canada, Nouvelle-France.[1][2] to Pierre and Marie Madeleine Thunay dite Dufresne.
She married Pierre Perthuis about 18 March 1716 (date of marriage contract).[3]
Catherine was Pierre's second wife. He had one son by his first wife and about a dozen children with Catherine.[4]
She was alive in 24 Apr 1741 based on a disposition she made recorded in the Kaskaskia Manuscripts.[6] Catherine Mallet, wife of Pierre Perthuis of Kaskaskia, concerning what she learned while she was at Detroit with her parents, about the behavior of the wife of the late Jean Baptiste Turpin. Made at the request of Louis Turpin. Executed at Kaskaskia. Du Buisson; Jean Chenie; Louis Labriere; Barrois. (3pp. Com. V, 09).
Notes
The woman buried on 18 May 1768 in Châteauguay was listed as 87 year old widow of Charles Duquet, whom she married in 1719. Not at all the same woman.
