Hiram was born 28 Dec 1859. His father William Mallory died when he was age 4. His mother married W. Angleton 29 Aug 1867 when he was age 7. At age 10, he was living in the household of Samuel Thompson, relationship unknown. At that same census time, his mother Mary Angleton was living with her new husband, their first child and her other three children, Hiram's siblings. He married Nanny A Shouse 12 Jun 1887 at age 27. He owned his own farm in Palmyra township in Knox County, Indiana raising 10 children of his wife, Nannie. He passed away 1 April 1931.
His death certificate states he died from apoplexy. Family lore says he arrived home with his family to see their house was afire. He ran into the home to attempt to save personal items. He ran out the door carrying a sofa when he collapsed. It was believed he died from the exertion of effort.
