Biography

John was born in 1891, the son of Michael Malone and Catherine McLaughlin. [1]

He enlisted in the AIF in WW1. SERVICE NO: 2529; YEAR OF BIRTH: 1891; PLACE OF BIRTH: Hamilton; DATE OF ENLISTMENT: 13 June 1916; PLACE OF ENLISTMENT: Hamilton; AGE AT ENLISTMENT: 24; UNIT: 57th Battalion, 5th Reinforcement; EMBARKED: 25 September 1916; TROOP SHIP: HMAT A9Shropshire.

He was killed in action 1917.[2]
