Research Notes

Based on the obituary of her brother Fred it seems likely her maiden name was Wingnek and Mamayaok was her middle name.

WINGNEK-Fred (Hun-a-uk) Wingnkt of Calgary, born in the Baffin Islands, NWT on April 30, 1933, passed away at the Rockyview Hospital on Thursday, January 31, 2002 at the age of 68 years. He was predeceased by his father Syril and mother Annie (Hun-a-uk) Wingnek and sister Bessie Wingnek. Fred was an employee of Shell Oil Canada. Since his retirement he was an active volunteer in the community. A sincere thank-you to the stsaff in the ICU at the Rockyview Hospital for their support and compassion in caring for Fred and his family. A memorial Service will be held in the Chapel of the Rockyview Hospital on Thursday, February 7 at 3:00 p.m. (instead of 2:00 pm as previously reported).
