Rev. Robert J. Manhardt, 59, was the pastor of Sacred Heart Church in Portville, New York, for 13 years. He had attended Christ the King Seminary, St. Bonaventure and was ordained a priest of the Diocese of Buffalo, New York in 1942. After ordination, Father Manhardt served as assistant pastor of St. Teresa, Buffalo, St. Francis of Assisi, Buffalo; Our Mother of Good Counsel, Blasdell; St. Anthony, Batavia; and Immaculate Conception, Cassadaga. His only assignment as pastor was at Sacred Heart. He also served on the Priest's Senate of the Diocese of Buffalo.
