Mary was born on the 11th JUly 1832 in Birmingham, Warwickshire, England to James Manison and Elizabeth Porton. Her Christening was on the 6th August 1832 at St Philips, Birmingham. Warwickshire, England ^[1]

In 1851 her family were living at 81 Brougham Street, Lozells, Birmingham. Warwickshire, England James was a Cabinet Maker, Elizabeth had no occupation listed, Mary was a Milliner, Edwin was a File Cutter, Amelia, and James were at school, Julia and Alfred were both below school age. Also there on census night was a Visitor James Poshigs who was a Brass Founding ^[2]

She married James Cupples , at St Bartholomew, Edgbaston, Birmingham, Warwickshire, England. They were both of full age, James was a Coachman, living in Edgbaston, Mary had no occupation listed, living in Birmingham. The witnesses were her father James and her sister Amelia. on the 12th November 1859 ^[3][4]

They had a Lodger Anthony Harvey who was a Horse Keeper. ^[7]
