Suggest anyone who wants to see an in depth view of Manley history, that this sight refuses to let me put on, go to this, "Source The History Of Cheshire, by George Ormerod - pages 101 -105 and the Manlegh family tree... As far as Manley's correct spelling, there are many slight variations of our name, & people have supportive data to support "their" versions... I have reams of that data & I refuse to waste time trying to find out whose version supersedes someone else's... So for those who want to make slight changes here I will politely decline all.... I am far more interested in finding where the Manley's came from in France, before they came to Cheshire in their invasion of England...

Manley-2791 and Manly-113 are not ready to be merged because: The data is incomplete & they need to research the details as to why their data is better... I don't mind changing if they concrete data, but I don't see it there... I have checked numerous other data points & there are minor variations between them... But clear factual evidence has not yet to surface...

I am not ready to go through the merging of last names that are slightly different, due to the huge amount time and documentation it takes to get it precisely correct... In 2 other family tree programs I belong to I have been able to get this family tree back to around 1000 ad in England... In that journey you will find more slight variations of Manley/Manly spelling... The journey back to 1000 ad has been awesome & I have found books that fully support the data... The reason the data is not on wiki tree is that they will not let me put data on unless I am certified... I filled out the certification paper work & sent it to Wiki but never received any feedback from them that I was accepted or rejected or required additional info which I would have gladly provided... So I spend most of my time on the commercial family tree sites... Enjoy your journey, our Manley history is awesome & I have enjoyed going to England to see where have lived.

It was with great care that I read your message. Getting back to 1000 AD is quite a stretch. I don't know about Wikitree, they should support your efforts, not tie them up! If you'd like me to add to the fray, I'd be happy to!

Meanwhile, if you could get me back to 1000 AD, that would be great. You mentioned texts in your research. If you could identify them, that's good. Any farther back than Sir Niclaus, back to 1475.

Best, Jim

Manley-2791 and Manly-113 should be merged with Manly as alternative spelling

Many thanks for your comment! The two should be merged with "as alternative spelling." Let me thank you in advance for that!
