Hi,

Now that you have had a little time to try WikiTree, there are a few more features you may find useful.

Ideas on what to include in a profile can be found in Styles and Standards, including some tips on writing biographies.

If you need to describe an event, an heirloom or a location relevant to your research, you may like to learn about Free Space Profiles.

Lastly, sometimes you'll run into unresponsive profile managers. We have a process for resolving those unfortunate situations.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask via my profile page.

Hi!

Our vision is to build a collaborative tree with one profile per person. The farther back you go, it's likely you will find duplicate profiles to link into, so it's a good idea to do a search before you create a new profile.

Do you have Royal Ancestors? If so, they are already here! Please contact the EuroAristo Project to discuss connecting your family line to their already existing profiles.

WikiTree strives to be a fun, collaborative, productive site. It's also different than what many people are used to. Please take advantage of the Help Menu in the upper right hand corner, our G2G Forum and of course, our Mentors :)

Do you have any questions I can help with?

Hi Shannon

You are now a member of the WikiTree Community. Please note we are trying to build one Collaborative Tree which means one profile per person. It is important to ensure no duplicates are entered as you add any Profiles to WikiTree.

If you need any help getting started check out the Help section,or head over to the G2G forum, you might want to check out the introductory WikiTree video that a member created.

Our Mentor Team are a friendly bunch of volunteers who will be glad to help you with specific problems if you have any.

Good luck growing your branches, and thanks for offering to help with our shared tree :)

I am researching the Daniel J Mann family of Georgia, USA and Florida, USA. Daniel J Mann was born 1802 in Georgia and died Mar 01 1875 in Baker Co. Florida. I am descended through one of his sons, Archibald I Mann who died Nov 15 1906 in Polk Co. Florida. Old family lore has linked Daniel J Mann to William Mann Sr. Rev. Soldier of Tattnall/Appling Co. Georgia but Y-DNA results conducted on myself and another known direct male descendant prove that William Mann Sr. R.S. was not the biological father of our Daniel J Mann.

As of January 2018, Y-DNA testing of a documented descendant of the prominent Luke Mann Family of Bryan/Liberty Co. Georgia has also revealed that Daniel J Mann was not a blood member of that Mann line despite living very close to Luke Mann's descendants circa 1820.

I am currently working with a genealogical researcher to dig deep within the early records of Georgia to look for further clues. Please contact me if you are interested in collaborating on the Daniel J Mann line.
