Biography

Judith Johns Mann Ross was born around 1812. The 1850, 1860, 1870 and 1880 census records all state that she was born in Georgia. (Judith was named for her paternal grandmother Judith Johns Mann, who was originally from Amelia County, VA.) Most online family trees try to claim that her Mann family was from South Carolina, but all of the actual source evidence points to her grandfather James Mann and wife Judith Johns Mann living in Amelia County, VA, followed by Nottoway County, prior to moving to Elbert County, GA around 1796.

Judith Ross passed away in 1897. [1] [2]
