Janet was born on April 14, 1790 and christened on May 11, 1790 in Westminster to James and Elizabeth Manners[1]. The best match for her parents seems to be this marriage[2] between James Manners and Elizabeth Stuart. This date is consistent with a set of baptisms to children of James and Elizabeth Manners commencing with Janet in 1790, then James in 1793, and Elizabeth in 1795 all at St. James, Westminster (aka St. James, Piccadilly), followed by Ann in 1797 and Issabella in 1799, both at St. Sepulchre.
In the 1861 census[6] she living with Thomas and Amelia Richardson and their family, listed as grandmother. In fact, her relationship to the head of household is mother-in-law; Amelia is a daughter of James and Janet.
