Thomas Manners was born in County Durham, England.

Thomas Manners was born in the village of Coundon on 7 January 1810 and was the second son of John Manners and Ann Simpson.^[1]

Thomas married Elizabeth Lowther on 19 December 1835 and they had nine children.^[2]
