Vincenza Mannina is born and baptized 15 November 1877 in Corleone, the daughter of Pietro Mannina and Anna Maria Sangiorgi. Her godparents are Arcangelo Piranio and Orsola Trombaturi, a married couple.[1] The record of her death gives the same birthdate in 1878.
She is named after her paternal grandmother. Vincenza's godparents are the parents of Carlo and Joseph Piranio, the future Mafia bosses of Dallas, Texas.
Vincenza marries Lorenzo Mangano, son of Vincenzo Mangano and Gaetana Ruffino, who is also a native of Corleone. He dies in Chicago, Illinois, on 30 December 1944. His last address is 446 W Elm St. He is 71, married, a laborer. He is buried 3 Jan 1945 in St. Joseph Cemetery, River Grove, Illinois. The informant is Jennie Ciavirelli.[2]
Vincenza Mangano dies 7 November 1967 in Chicago. Her last address is 1332 W Eddy St. She is reportedly 88, a widow, born 18 November 1878 (actually 1877; she is 89) in Corleone. Vincenza is buried 10 Nov 1967 in St. Joseph Cemetery in River Grove, Illinois. The informant is Cathalene Linderman.[3]
Vincenza has a first cousin, once removed, who also emigrates to Chicago: Josephine Tambarello.
