Cosimo Mannina, son of the late Nunzio Mannina and the living Francesca Manicchia, marries Bernarda Gariffo, daughter of Biagio Gariffo and the late Liboria Billitti, on 13 November 1870 in Corleone.[1]
Cosimo and Bernarda have at least five children: two sons named Nunzio (1873 and 1874) Maria (c. 1874), Liboria (1879), and Biagio (1885).
The first son named Nunzio is born 2 January 1873 in Corleone and baptized the next day. His godparents are Maestro Giuseppe Fontanetta and Maria Rosa Bellanca.[2] He is presumed to have died in infancy. His brother of the same name lives to adulthood.
The second son named Nunzio is born 19 May 1874 in Corleone, and baptized the next day. His godfather is Salvatore Addamo.[3]
Liboria is born 11 November 1879 and baptized the next day. Her godparents are Giuseppe Billitti and Maria Antonia, his sister, both unmarried.[4]
Biagio is born and baptized 11 June 1885. His godparents are Biagio { } and Francesca Mannina, a married couple. A blank space is left to write in Biagio’s surname. These are Cosimo’s sister and brother-in-law, Biagio Gagliano.[5]
Maria marries Carmelo lo Jacono on 21 January 1894. Her parents are living.[6][7]
Nunzio is allegedly a soldier in the New Orleans crime family who later transfers to the San Francisco crime family.[8] The membership charts on Bill Feather's website confirm this.[9]
Nunzio dies on 6 August 1962 in Sacramento, California.[10] He is buried in Saint Mary's Catholic Cemetery and Mausoleum in Sacramento.[11]
