Her father sailed to the Swan River colony in 1854. It is assumed that his residence there lead to her being introduced to John Henry Monger whom she married in London on 21/7/1857.
She arrived in the colony with her husband on the Dolphin on 7/11/1857 having left London in August. They were listed as passengers Mr and Mrs Monger.
In 1871 she inherited Fremantle Lots 134 and 135 and "The Castle" from her Uncle Henry Manning.
DEATH NOTICE. Death of Mrs. J. H. Monger. It is with extreme regret we find it our duty to chronicle the death of Mrs J. H. Monger, of Faversham House, York, which sad event took place at her residence on Sunday afternoon last. The deceased had been a great sufferer for many months past, and with the exception of a few brief intervals was for some weeks confined to her room. The deceased lady was highly esteemed by those included within the circle of her acquaintance, and very general regret at her death was expressed on all sides. The cause of death was cancer. Mrs. Monger leaves behind a family of seven—three sons and four daughters, to whom much sympathy is extended in their bereavement.
She is buried in East Perth Cemetery.
