Biography
Married Letitia Lee in 1802 - parents of John II, Elisha, Letitia, James, Maranda, Melea (male), Woodward, Ira & Mary
He served in the War of 1812 as Pvt Capt. Bethea's Co., Regt SC Militia
He became a wealthy and prosperous planter and owned all the land which now comprises the town of Latta, SC. At the time of his death, his personal property was appraised at $4,747.80 although he had previously sold several plantations to give money to his sons to go West.
He is buried at Manning Family Cem, Latta, Dillon, SC.
The Lee family has their own section in the book Our Kin, beginning page 24.
