Elizabeth Manning was born in 1669, the daughter of Jeffrey Manning and Hepzibah Andrews. She may have been born in New Jersey or Massachusetts, as the Mannings emigrated to Piscataway, Middlesex, New Jersey between 1668-1670. Elizabeth married Thomas Fitz Randolph, son of Edward Fitz Randolph Jr. and Elizabeth Blossom. They had, at least, the following children: Thomas, Elizabeth, David, Jonathan, Bathsheba, Dinah, and Luranah. Elizabeth died from smallpox March 1, 1731/32.

Birthplaces, etc, are listed above as "Piscatawaytown" which is the original name for the area currently occupied by the New Jersey towns of Piscataway, Edison, and parts of Perth Amboy. This can be confusing to the beginning researcher, as directions for graves, homes and so on are often given as "in Piscataway" but when the researcher attempts to find the actual site, he or she realizes that it is actually several miles away in Edison or closer to Perth Amboy.

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Elizabeth by comparing test results with other carriers of her mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known mtDNA test-takers in her direct maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Elizabeth:
Jeffrey and Hepzibah moved to Piscataway in 1670 (Piscataway resident list 1670). Their first 3 kids were born in Massachusetts before that date. Their fourth child, Joseph's tombstone (still standing near my house in Edison, NJ, says he's the first born in this town and it doesn't mean Piscataway--the first born of their children.
Manning-825 and Manning-407 appear to represent the same person because: Both of these Elizabeth Mannings are the same woman. Same birthdate and the correct death date is 1732, as noted on image of gravestone. Please merge. Thank you.
