Biography

Joan was the daughter of William Maunsell.[1]

William Whittington married Joan Maunsell. They are believed to have had as many as five sons[2]:

  • William
  • Robert
  • Guy
  • Unknown
  • Richard

It is suggested the Richard, the youngest, was the fifth son, due to the Annulet in his Coat of Arms. [2]

After the death of her childless brother Philip Maunsell in 1396, the Maunsell estates in Gloucestershire passed into the Whittington family. [3]

Mansel-33 and Maunsell-269 appear to represent the same person because: Same person. Maunsell is used by History of Parliament.

LNAB was Mansel or Maunsell. Peresford is probably a mistake relating to Margery Peresford wife of Robert

Think this lady is William's wife, not his mother. See History of Parliament online
