Biography

Abigail Mansfield, the daughter of Moses Mansfield and Mercy Glover, was born February 7, 1664/5.^[1] On September 13, 1682 she married John Atwater.^[2][3] Abigail died September 24, 1717 and was buried at Wallingford..^[4]

Among the descendants of John & Abigail were Ward Atwater, a prominent sea captian in the West Indies trade, and Jeremiah Atwater, president of Middlebury College, Vermont & later of the Dickinson College of Pennsylvania ^[5].
