Biography

Robert's parentage is uncertain. T. Grant Maple believed he was a son of Thomas Maple.[1]
Robert appeared in tax lists for German Township, Fayette County, Pennsylvania in the years 1792[2], 1795, 1796, 1798, and 1799.
W. Aaron Maple appeared there as well in the years 1797, 1798, and 1799.[3]
In 1800, Robert was living near Aaron Maple in Fayette County, Pennsylvania.

The will of Robert Maple, written on 25 March 1843 and probated on 18 November 1851, mentions sons Benjamin, Elias, William, Robert and Jacob, and daughters Ann Grove, Mary Morrow, and Matilda Peckham.[7] It states that Benjamin was his oldest son. It also states that William was deceased at the time the will was written, and it mentions William's heirs Levi, Ezra, and Lucinda, and Mary's son Robert Morrow.
