"Phoebe Maple b. 1802, Washington Co., PA; d. Dec. 26, 1877, Carroll Co., OH. Never married. A blind invalid, she died at the home of her brother David."[1]
On 8 January 1853 john Maple appeared at a Carroll County Probate Court in Carrollton, and he was appointed Guardian of Phoebe Maple, "an Idiot child and heir at law of John Maple, late of Carroll County, deceased".[2]
