In 1866 he married Lydia Wagg[1] and the family lived in King's Lynn in 1871. James was a labourer.[2] At the time of the 1881 census, the family lodged with Sophia Wagg, Lydia's mother.[3] By 1891 they lived in their own house in King's Lynn. James worked as a railway horseman.[4][5][6]
