Abraham was born in 1723. He is the son of Thomas Marlet and Neeltje ___. He married Martha Vail in 1747 or 1748.

"1777, Mar. 5. Merlatt, Abram of Readingtown, Hunterdon Co., yeoman; will of. Sons Gedion, John, Peter and Abram Merlett, to have the liberty of all my real to farm till youngest daughter, Catherine, is 18 years of age, in order to pay for the 108 acres of land bought from John VanSickle, and, when paid for, to be divided between the sons. Daughters, Mary and Catherine, to have the lot and house where I live of 30 acres and the goods their mother brought with her at our marriage. Daughter Nele, wife of Derk ? Merlatt, cows. My mother, Eleanor Randall, to be taken care of. Execcutors -- Harmon Lane and James Emans. Witnesses James Van Horn, Abraham Lane, Sarah Gennings. Prove June 1, 1778.[12]

Marlot-3 and Marlatt-40 appear to represent the same person because: Same person, different surname spellings. Their are many variations: Marlot Merlet Merlett Marlett Marlatt. I believe Marlatt is the best option.
